Policy available for public pianos

The Town of Orangeville now has a policy for the placement of pianos on public property. Approved pianos are permitted to remain on Town property for a maximum of three months, from June 15 to September 15 annually.

Pianos may be available to the public from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The owners are to ensure that pianos are uncovered in the morning, as weather permits, and that they are covered and secured to ensure that pianos cannot be played after 9 p.m.

The policy outlines the conditions under which a piano may be placed on public property in Orangeville, provides program details regarding location, ownership and responsibilities, piano specifications, program duration and hours of operation, insurance, removal of pianos, revocation/suspension, and application procedures.

Applications to install a piano on public property can be obtained by visiting the Customer Service desk at Town Hall (87 Broadway, Orangeville, ON) or by downloading the required documents.
